Hello Mamas!
I am so honored to be carrying on what Emily created, and forever indebted to her and this amazing community. I'm also humbled to be working with the incredibly talented team of women you all know and love- Kristen, Christina, Maria, and Keli. It is my wish to continue to bring you all the fitness and fun (and yes, burpees!) you've come to love and rely on the past five years.
I want to share my Fit4Mom Davis-Woodland story, so you understand my absolute adoration of this business (spoiler: it's much more than a business to me). In 2015 I was a mom to two under two. My family lives two states away, and I was struggling to find support and consistency in my life. I had always been a team sports athlete and loved to work out, but having two little kiddos while working full-time from home made it impossible to get the fitness I craved. But more than that, I was craving emotional support from someone who understood how I felt in that moment of motherhood. My mommy-bestie, Jessica, introduced me to Emily at a chance meeting at the park mid-2015. Emily floated this idea of a mommy-workout group and asked if we would be interested if she started something like that in Davis.
"WOULD I?!?!"
It was EXACTLY what I needed at that moment of motherhood. There were many other, different moments of motherhood that Fit4Mom Davis-Woodland and Emily helped to support me as I grew into my role. I often tell people that the Fit4Mom model checks so many boxes for moms of small children. 1. You are getting out of the house 2. You are getting a workout out 3. You are socializing with moms that GET IT 4. Your kiddos get a chance to get out and socialize too! The more I participated in Fit4Mom, the more I realized other aspects of my life were improving too- not only did I feel like a better mother because I was filling my cup, but I also felt like a better partner, a better employee, a better friend, just better all-around. When things got tough, I could turn to this village of mothers, either within a workout or outside of it, to talk to and lean on. When we adopted our daughter, June, in 2018, far and away the biggest support we received was from the Fit4Mom community. We are eternally grateful for helping us bring our daughter home. The darkest points of my life thus far were met with the light of this community.
That is why I am so passionate about this business. Because it's not just a business. It is a community that gives mothers strength and compassion when they need it most, at every stage of motherhood.
I'm bursting at the seams excited to continue what Emily started. I owe so much to Emily and this community and I will work hard everyday to give you strength in motherhood.
Love, Allie
